Prenatal Policy

All Prenatal students must obtain verbal doctor approval for participating in prenatal yoga before attending any classes at Devotion Yoga while pregnant. (no doctor note needed)

Devotion Yoga does not recommend pregnant women participate in non-prenatal yoga classes and does not allow prenatal women to attend any advanced or vigorous classes.

Students who do not have a consistent yoga practice or are new to yoga may only attend prenatal classes at Devotion Yoga while pregnant.  A consistent practice is defined as at least three classes per week.

Pregnant students who have a consistent existing yoga practice must take at least 3 prenatal classes before attending a non-prenatal class at Devotion Yoga to learn modifications and contraindications. They can only attend non-prenatal classes that are taught by trained prenatal instructors and are considered “approved” classes. These classes are indicated with a "P" on our paper yoga schedule.  Please speak to the front desk staff if you have any questions about which classes are appropriate. If a pregnant student does take a non-prenatal class, she is responsible for notifying the teacher of her pregnancy, health and due date before the start of class.

Class “No Show” Policy

If you pre-register online for a class and cannot make the class, please either cancel your scheduled session online or call our front desk so we can do it for you. Many or our classes get full and have waiting lists. If you do not cancel and don’t show up, a person on the waitlist won’t be notified that there is an open space. If you do not cancel your scheduled session and do not show for class, a class will be taken from your current package.

If you have an unlimited membership and continue to pre-register and then don’t show for class, we will contact you to discuss implementing a “cancelation fee” policy for future instances.

Late Policy
No students will be allowed into a class after 10 minutes into the start of class.
Be on time. Each class is organized with a beginning, middle and end, all of which contribute to the experience. If you come in late to class, you not only miss a part of this experience but you will disrupt the yoga experience for someone else as well.

To limit disruptions during class, we ask that latecomers wait outside the yoga room door until the teacher has opened the door for all latecomers to enter together. Teachers will open the door once about 10 minutes after the class starts to let people in. After this no other students will be allowed in class. If you did not get into class please return to the front desk to cancel your class sign-in so you don’t get charged/ deducted for the class.

Mat Storage

The Mat storage available at the studio is only for unlimited members.

Other General Policies:

  • Turn off cell phones and pagers when entering Devotion Yoga’s space.

  • In order for us to preserve our floors, we ask that you take off shoes before entering the yoga room.

  • It is your responsibility to inform the instructor if you are pregnant or have any injuries before class.

  • Please avoid leaving early. If you do need to leave early, please kindly let the teacher know before class and do so before savasana begins.

  • Do not bring food or open containers in the yoga room.  Please refrain from chewing gum during class.

  • While taking a class or workshop, please store personal items on one of the storage shelves/spaces available. You are responsible for your personal belongings, Devotion Yoga is not responsible for any lost items.

  • Practice propasana: please put all yoga props away neatly and fold blankets.

  • If you tend to sweat, bring a towel to class.

  • Please support Devotion Yoga’s intention of creating a non-competitive and peaceful environment.

Consistent yoga practice is necessary to obtain maximum benefits. Remember to rest when necessary, to work at your individual level and to respect your body’s current physical state.
